[REVIEW] Avid Pro Tools 11 – My Favorite Music Production Software

Pro Tools provide everything a musician needs to record, compose, mix and edit beautiful sounding music and even TV soundtracks. All these tasks can be done very easily and much faster; as a result, producers, artists and mixers are now using Pro Tools. These Pro Tools are now even better with their upgraded versions in terms of speed and creative ability. The most recent innovation is the Avid Pro Tools 11 and it is my favorite music production software. Here are some of the reasons why:

  • It has a new audio engine, the modern native and DSP-based hardware and a new plug-in architecture. Everything is packed in one 64-bit modern application which leads to improved performance.
  • The CPU is dynamic; it provides power only when and where needed. You can easily place a load of best effects on a load of chorus vocals.
  • There is a second audio buffer in Pro Tools 11. The playback buffer sizes are managed automatically during normal playback.
  • Pro Tools 11 is available without the high-end HDX interfaces of Avid. As a result, you can run features natively.

    • Pro Tools 11 can bounce multiple outputs from mono to 7.1 surround. The bounce time is on average 4.6 to 12.1 times faster than real time. The offline bounces are flawless with no pops, clicks or dropouts.
    • Pro Tools 11 supports multiple metering standards. It can support average and peak to K, VU and PPM. The channel meters are 30% taller and have higher resolution. Plug-in sends can be monitored through mini meters that are placed on each channel. The metering works perfectly on both PC and Mac versions of Pro Tools 11.

Overall, Pro Tools 11 provides much improved performance than its previous versions. You will love the experience of using Pro Tools 11 for music recording, editing, mixing and other tasks. Here’s a video of Pro Tools 11 in action:
